adjective - [ˈbʌɪə(ʊ)ˈfɪlɪk]

What is biophilia?

Biophilia literally means ‘love of life’ (from the Greek: bio = life and filia = brotherly love, friendship, affection) and refers to the theory of the biologist Erich Fromm in which he described the innately and genetically determined human affinity with the natural world.

Biophilia is the theory on which biophilic design
