BIOPHILIC
adjective - [ˈbʌɪə(ʊ)ˈfɪlɪk]
What is biophilic urbanism?
Biophilic urbanism / biophilic urban planning aims for the best of both worlds: the proven benefits (health, wellbeing, productivity, workforce engagement, etc) of being in and around nature (biophilic architecture) with the benefits of living and working in the artificial environment.
Biophilic urbanism doesn’t consider them to be mutually exclusive systems, but rather complementary and even synergetic ones.
