SMART
acronym - [smahrt]:
What is Internet of Things?
The simple explanation of Internet of Things, commonly referred to as IoT, is a network of internet connected devices that can collect, share and exchange data.
That collected data is sent to a cloud-based storage where software monitors the incoming data and decides whether to share that data with other devices, or to send an alert, control or adjust the functions of the connected device, etc.
These decisions and interventions mostly run in the background. That is to say, the system functions without the end user – you and I – having to intervene of even know about it.
The internet connected devices are commonly known as SMART devices.
